How Green Grows looks after the details you share with us.
Last updated: 18 October 2026
Green Grows is a gardening business based in County Sligo, serving Sligo, Leitrim and Roscommon. This policy explains what personal information we collect through greengrows.ie, why we collect it, how long we keep it and the rights you have under the GDPR and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988–2018.
Who we are
Green Grows, run by Frank, is the data controller for information collected on this website. You can contact us about anything in this policy by email at [email protected] or by phone on 087 181 5293.
What we collect
When you request a quote through our contact form, we collect:
- your name, email address and phone number
- your town or Eircode, so we know where the garden is
- the services you are interested in, your preferred visit date and any details you give us about your garden
- any photos of your garden you choose to upload
If you call or email us directly, we keep the details you give us in the same way. We do not ask for, and ask you not to send, sensitive information such as health or financial details.
How we use it
We use your details only to reply to your enquiry, visit and price the job, carry out the work, and keep the records we need to run the business (for example invoices). Our legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing that contract, and meeting our legal obligations such as tax record-keeping.
We do not sell your information, use it for marketing lists or share it with anyone for their own purposes.
Who can see it
Your details are stored on our website and in our email, and are seen only by Green Grows. A small number of service providers process data on our behalf so the website can run:
- Our website host, which stores the website and form submissions.
- Cloudflare, which protects the website from attacks and delivers it quickly. It processes technical data such as your IP address.
- Our email provider, which delivers form notifications and our replies to you.
Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, it does so under safeguards approved by the European Commission, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Reviews and links to other sites
Our reviews section is shown using a widget from LocallyIrish, which displays our Google reviews. When that section loads, LocallyIrish receives standard technical information from your browser, such as your IP address. If you follow a link to leave a Google review or open Google Maps, Google’s own privacy policy applies.
Cookies
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The website may set strictly necessary cookies, for example to keep it secure, to make the contact form work, or to keep site administrators logged in. These do not need your consent and are not used to identify you.
How long we keep it
- Quote enquiries that do not go ahead are deleted within 12 months.
- Records for customers we have worked for, such as invoices, are kept for 6 years, as Irish Revenue rules require.
- Garden photos you upload are deleted when we no longer need them for your quote or job.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete
- delete your information, where we do not need to keep it by law
- restrict or object to how we use it
- give you your information in a portable format
To make a request, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Keeping it safe
The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS), access to submissions is limited to Green Grows, and the site and its plugins are kept up to date.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
